Tips on how to keep your nails healthy

Please keep reading to understand why I wrote about the 11 tips for healthy nails.

I was at a house party when a friend of a friend struck up a discussion with me and grabbed my hand to check my fingernails.

I didn’t have fungus or yellow nails, my nails looked healthy to me; but they were supposedly pale.

Hello, I was a little reluctant! Someone you’ve just met grabs my hands and examines my fingernails.

“Would you mind if I checked your lower eyelid?” she asks.

So, why not? I said, “yes!” You just grabbed my hand when I was utterly unaware!! She gently drew my lower eyelid down to check for redness.

She then advised that I visit a doctor to be checked for anemia.

My nails and eyes were the sources of this.

The funny thing was that I’d been feeling unusually weak and exhausted when I was a high-energy individual!

So I went to my lady doctor, who ran some lab tests and found that my hemoglobin was low, so I started taking iron supplements.

That’s why I wanted you to understand the significance of my title and why I felt inspired to write it.

Because it’s all about health, one thing is linked to another.

Thus, maintaining them in good condition is vital to demonstrate that the body operates properly.

Unfortunately, a wide range of nail issues results from individuals being too busy to care for their nails as they should be adequate.

As a result, nails are continuously in danger of being damaged due to a lack of attention.

Other than lack of attention/negligence, it may come as a surprise that nail problems are may also be caused by traumas or heredity.

Toe and fingernail problems

Fingernails are what most people envision when they think about nails, but not all of your nails are on your hands; you also need to pay attention to your feet’ nails as well!

While it’s usual for individuals to overlook their feet, the fact that your feet aren’t visible doesn’t rule out the possibility that they are telling you anything about how your body is doing.

In the case of nails, nail fungus is a frequent problem that is often disregarded by those who believe they have healthy feet and fail to recognize it.

What are nails made of?

Basic information is provided not to be overwhelmed, and I want you to learn the primary layer of your nails.

When people look at their nails, that is the top layer, also known as the nail plate, composed of keratin and collagen.

Which is the major protein, and it grows in layers, like a layered cake.

For healthy cell growth and the development of your nails, you need the protein keratin.

Protein keratin is the primary protein found in your skin, hair, and nails.

The cuticle is the next layer, and it is responsible for protecting the nail from infection and trauma.

It also aids in the prevention of splitting and other issues such as dryness.

Microscopic glands embedded in the cuticle create oil or sebum, which protects cells from withering off due to dryness while also blocking microorganisms from entering our bodies via our fingers.

Some of the factors that might impact your nails are listed below.

  1. Your age
  2. Hormones
  3. Vitamin deficiency
  4. Excessive use of nail polish
  5. Fake nails
  6. Overexposure to dampness and not drying
  7. Harsh chemicals
  8. Utilizing your fingernails as tools
  9. Season
